Thumbs up to Yves Behar and his amazing chandeliers made with recycled paper, in shape of crystals. They actually have a actual crystal inside them to reflect the hidden LED light onto the paper surface!

They are now exposed in the Salone del Mobile in Milan.

A Woodland House de Simon Dale foi cavada na encosta para diminuir o impacto visual no seu entorno natural todo encoberto por floresta. Pedra e lama foram usadas a partir da escavação onde foram reutilizadas para a manutenção das paredes e fundações da casa. A casa, única moldura do seu estilo, foi construída utilizando-se carvalho, recolhido na mata circundante. Fardos de palha foram colocados no piso, paredes e tecto sendo um elemento eficaz e ecológico de isolamento. No interior, há cal nas paredes de gesso que foi utilizado como um respirador e, além de ter baixa energia se encaixa como centro do cimento. Algumas peças da casa, como as janelas, foram feitas a partir de materiais recicláveis de lixo. A casa é aquecida pelo fogão a lenha.
Quanto à refrigeração, vem de baixo, do soalho. A iluminação é natural, enquanto que painéis solares no telhado auxiliam a garantir a energia interior. A origem da água de abastecimento é proveniente de uma geração interna. Também é equipada com um sistema de reciclagem. Criativa e sustentável. "

As you might have noticed, my creativity was - so i thought - officially gone. I was getting pretty desperate, because there wasn't really much to do around here and i'm still on vacation. I tried everything to get some imagination back. Books, movies, music, walks, exhibitions, everything! And still nothing...
But it seems that i've forgotten that Tim Burton movies can make miracles for your mental health!
That's right ladies and gentlemen, as i was delightfully entertained by "Alice in Wonderland" premiere, my mind couldn't help to think about a million fantastic things to do, to say, to worlk on.
Altought the filme was a bit to digital for me, i really enjoyed this new side of Tim Burton's work. If only Anne Hathaway character wasn't so incredibly ridiculous, and the Mad Hatter would stick to his madness, and didn't decide in the end to change his main characteristic to another one much more vulgar, this would be a four star movie!

Oh! And another thing, what the hell was avril lavigne music doing in the closing credits?!

But anyway, the scenarios, as always, were absolutely flawless, danny elfman made another perfect soundtrack, and THANK YOU Matt Lucas, Mia Wasikowska, Stephen Fry, Alan Rickman, and the eternal beloved ones Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter, for the wonderfull performance.
And and a more special thanks to Tim Burton, who, once again, was able to create a fantasy world that perfectly combines a extremely rich imagination whith a unique aestetic.

Bruce Munro’s gorgeous fiber optic ‘Field of Light‘ installation is inspired by the beautiful displays of flowers that burst forth from Australia’s desert landscape. The UK based lighting designer conceived of the installation 15 years ago while driving across Stuart Highway on a road trip through Australia. Every night he would stop to rest at roadside campsite, where green grass and surreal sculptures struck a stark contrast to the surrounding red desert. Munro was fascinated by these oases, and how dormant desert seeds would burst into beautiful flowers when it rained. The idea followed Munro for years all the way back to the UK until he could finally bring it to life in a brilliant installation at the Eden Project in Cornwall.

_{Tornar Portugal um país mais bonito é o principal objectivo da mais recente campanha da Coca-Cola Light. 21 anos depois de chegar a Portugal a marca lança um desafio aos portugueses: juntem aqueles objectos “menos bonitos” que ainda estão espalhados por sua casa, ou já arrumados no baú, e troquem-nos por uma lata de Coca-Cola Light. As trocas podem ser efectuadas na área da Grande Lisboa, Grande Porto, Algarve e vão existir quatro pontos itinerantes que vão percorrer todo o país. Mas não pense que esses objectos não vão ter um final feliz… Todos eles vão parar às mãos de designers portugueses que vão transformá-los em novas peças decorativas. Um trabalho que será exposto na edição deste ano da Experimenta Design 2009, que decorre entre 8 de Setembro e 9 de Novembro. A ligação ao mundo e aos conceitos do Design são bastante simples. Para os responsáveis da marca, pretende-se transformar a Coca-Cola Light num “objecto” único e sem igual, e a associação a esta área faz todo o sentido. The Design Day :: The Cassette Tape Lamps

_{Although they may hold nostalgic value for some, cassette tapes are bulky, have poor sound quality, lack large format album artwork, and a stacked up collection of them just doesn’t have the je ne sais quoi as a crate full of vinyl. To keep this 80’s technology out of the landfill, ooomydesign has used old cassette tapes to create a series of gorgeous glowing lamps.
Ooomydesign’s cassette tape lamps are linked together with plastic ties and are available in various sizes of floor and table lamps. The x-ray view in the lamps made from clear tapes is a really nice bonus, plus the disco ball-style sprinkling of light thrown on the wall from the wheel holes is really pretty cool. They can be purchased from the ooomydesign online shop, but designer Vanesa Moreno is also open to barter a lamp for those that want to send a collection of tapes. For your altruistic side, donations of tapes are also an option and would go towards making her vision of collection of cassette chairs, tables, and other furniture into a retro reality.to create a series of gorgeous glowing lamps.

_{Imagine inviting a dinner party of six into a formal dining room with only 3 chairs. The horror! Well, it’s really no problem with the Guarda Inside-Out Chair by Zanic Design. At first glance it’s a sleek, modern piece that is so slim, it can’t possibly have room to hide a box of chocolates, let alone a whole other chair. That is unless the other chair is molded right around the first chair like a second skin - hidden in plain sight. When you slide the white outer chair off, it “gives birth” to the inner one nesting doll-style. What a great way to psych your dinner guests out.}
